Recovery Sessions: A community support option using honest, authentic conversations centred around self-help topics including practical skills, tools and resources. Conversations are lead by individuals with lived experience of an eating disorder/disordered eating and a clinician.

Workshops: Stand-alone support programming, facilitated by a clinician, on a specific recovery topic.

Beginning September 1st, 2021: All workshops and recovery sessions will take place virtually every Thursday from 12-1 pm EST. This time slot alternates each week with a workshop and recovery session. On this page, you can find both our upcoming and past sessions. All of our sessions are recorded and posted on a private playlist to Youtube.

The Biological Basis of Eating Disorders

Join Karen Trollope-Kumar, Body Brave’s Medical Director, for a workshop exploring the biological basis of eating disorders. We’ll examine genetic factors that affect susceptibility to eating disorders, as well as some fascinating new brain research on eating disorders. Other topics include the gut-brain connection and trends in biologically-based treatment approaches.

Dealing with Diet Culture

Recovering from an eating disorder is one thing, recovering from an eating disorder while being surrounded by and bombarded with diet culture is another. In this recovery session we will define diet culture and explore ways that we can work to navigate through it.

Setting Boundaries
