Before enrolling in our support groups, please ensure that you meet the following:

Registered for our Recovery Support Program

You are an Ontario Resident (Valid OHIP or UHIP card)

Aged 17+

Previously completed a Body Brave Intake Call

Drop-in Groups

Our drop-in groups offer flexibility to build on skills, engage in community, and gain knowledge without commitment.

Enrolment for our weekly drop-in sessions is based on a first-come-first-served basis. Clients can request enrolment at any time.

Closed Groups

Our closed groups offer a supportive and structured setting to develop new skills, expand knowledge, and connect with others. Each session builds upon the previous one, so regular attendance is encouraged throughout the duration of the group.

Enrolment opens 4-weeks prior to the group start date on a first-come-first-served basis.

Nutrition Essentials: A Weekly Drop In Group

A drop-in group for those seeking more knowledge and confidence with their eating in recovery.

This nutrition group is designed for individuals with any type of eating disorder / disordered eating, who are ready to come together and explore what nutrition for recovery might look like. Weekly nutrition related topics are selected in advance by participants themselves. Topics may include structured eating basics, overcoming fear foods, navigating gastrointestinal issues, challenging diet culture, etc. These 90-minute sessions are professionally facilitated by one of our weight-inclusive Registered Dietitians and will combine skill development with an opportunity for discussion. Conversations in this group may involve triggering content for those sensitive to discussing food in detail but is appropriate for anyone ready to talk about nutrition openly in a pro-recovery space. No diagnosis is required and there is no charge for the group - however donations are welcomed. Please note that this group is not a substitute for outpatient or inpatient hospital-based treatment.

Nutrition Essentials for Recovery – Part 1: A 10-Week Group

A 10-week group for those ready to increase flexibility beyond structured eating and meal planning

This group is designed for individuals with different types of eating disorders who have completed Nutrition Essentials for Recovery Part 1, or for those who feel comfortable with structured eating and are not actively engaging in regular eating disorder behaviors. Over the course of 10 weeks, topics will explore how to incorporate flexibility beyond a meal plan, expand food variety, confront fear foods, and build confidence in nourishing our bodies. The sessions, lasting 90 minutes each, are professionally facilitated by one of our weight-inclusive Registered Dietitians. Throughout the program, participants will receive science-backed nutrition education, engage in discussions that promote self-awareness, offer growth opportunities, and be provided with guidance on community resources to support recovery. It is important for participants to commit to attending the full 10-week program. No formal diagnosis is required to join, and the group is free of charge, although donations are welcome. Please note that this group is not a substitute for outpatient or inpatient hospital-based treatment.

This groups is  geared towards those looking to sustain their recovery from an eating disorder.  No formal diagnosis is required. This is not an introductory group and is intended for those who have been able to find some progress with their recovery already. Strengthen your progress and learn from others in weekly discussions around various themes related to maintaining your recovery. Each week will start with an informal check-in and then explore a different topic chosen by the participants. This group is not a substitute for intensive outpatient or inpatient treatment, and it is strongly encouraged that participants keep in regular contact with their family doctor for medical monitoring while attending this group.

On The Journey

A 10-week group for individuals who have been struggling with an eating disorder for 2+ years and have previously received eating disorder treatment

This group is designed for people who are struggling with a long-standing eating disorder, or who have relapsed after hospital-based treatment for an eating disorder. Topics for each session are chosen by participants themselves. Since most participants have had experience with formal treatment for their eating disorder, the topics chosen typically go beyond basic psychoeducation and skill development. The facilitators design sessions according to the needs of the group, and there is often a wide range of issues addressed. Opportunity for discussion is particularly important in this group, as participants have considerable knowledge and experience to share. The group is professionally facilitated by one of our clinicians, and each session is 90 minutes in length. We ask that participants commit to the full 10 weeks. No diagnosis is required and there is no charge for the group - however donations are welcomed. Please note that this group is not a substitute for outpatient or inpatient hospital-based treatment. This group is not a substitute for intensive outpatient or inpatient treatment, and it is strongly encouraged that participants keep in regular contact with their family doctor for medical monitoring while attending this group.

Challenging Restriction and Purging: A Weekly Drop-In Group

This group is also designed for people who are struggling with symptoms such as restriction or purging. However, because it is a drop-in group it is particularly suited for people who are not able to commit to a full 10 week group. Topics for each session are chosen by participants themselves. Once the topics are finalized the facilitators will design sessions accordingly. Common topics chosen include communication skills, maintaining motivation, setting boundaries, coping with strong emotion, symptom reduction, and body image. Like all Body Brave groups, this group is recovery-focused and strengths-based, creating space to identify struggles and celebrate triumphs along the journey. The group is professionally facilitated by one of our clinicians, and each 90-minute session combines skill development with an opportunity for discussion. No diagnosis is required and there is no charge for the group - however donations are welcomed. Please note that this group is not a substitute for outpatient or inpatient hospital-based treatment.

Challenging Binge Eating or Emotional Eating: A Weekly Drop-In Group

This group is a weekly drop-in treatment group for those who are struggling with binge eating, overeating, and/or emotional eating. No formal diagnosis is required. We welcome you to join us for a recovery-focused, strengths-based 90 minute group that creates space to identify struggles and celebrate triumphs along the journey. All participants are encouraged to choose topics of particular interest to the group and those topics will be explored weekly. Past chosen topics have included: exploring body image, recognizing triggers for urges, understanding the binge restrict cycle, exploring communication techniques for handling difficult conversations, appreciating unhelpful thinking styles, setting boundaries, cultivating self care, self esteem, self compassion. Participants are welcome to return each week but will be required to sign-up for each individual session prior to the group start time. No diagnosis is required and there is no charge for the group - however donations are welcomed. Please note that this group is not a substitute for outpatient or inpatient hospital-based treatment.

Binge Eating or Emotional Eating Recovery Skills: A 10-Week Group

This group is a program for anyone struggling with emotional eating and/or binge eating. No formal diagnosis is required. This 90-minute strengths-based group is focused on enhancing skill-building and individualized strategies for change utilizing cognitive behavioural therapy skills. Weekly themes include: exploring diet culture, the origins of emotional and /or binge eating , reflecting on individual values, core beliefs, aspects of self esteem while understanding and practicing distress tolerance tools, and behavioural strategies to help identify triggers and coping mechanisms. No diagnosis is required and there is no charge for the group - however donations are welcomed. Please note that this group is not a substitute for outpatient or inpatient hospital-based treatment.

Restriction and Purging Recovery Skills: A 10-Week Group

This group is designed for people who are struggling with symptoms such as restriction or purging.
