Meal Support Mondays is a 1-hour online meal support group where we are eating together. What is meal support? Essentially, it’s eating a meal in a supportive environment with others. Join us live in a pro-recovery space to share an eating moment with others in the Body Brave community. This means everyone is bringing their own lunch to the virtual group and eating together on camera. The first 5 minutes will be introductions and a brief grounding exercise. Then we will dedicate 30 minutes to eat, followed by a gentle post-meal activity. We will provide light topics for conversation throughout the meal and share simple strategies to help you complete your eating moment. This meal support group is appropriate for anyone struggling with an eating moment and wants more support and guidance (no diagnosis or previous experience required). Please note this group is different from other Body Brave offerings where the premise is to eat food together on camera. While video use is optional, we do encourage you to turn on your camera in order to foster a sense of community around the ‘virtual table’, just as we would in person.

Brave Together is a weekly drop-in treatment group for those who are struggling with binge eating, overeating, and/or emotional eating. No formal diagnosis is required. We welcome you to join us for a recovery-focused, strengths-based group that creates space to identify struggles and celebrate triumphs along the journey. All participants are encouraged to choose topics of particular interest to the group and those topics will be explored weekly. Past chosen topics have included: exploring body image, handling triggers for urges, understanding communication techniques, recognizing unhelpful thinking styles, setting boundaries, and cultivating self-care and self-compassion. Participants are welcome to return each week but will be required to sign-up for each individual session prior to the group start time. Because this drop-in group covers similar material as our Brave At Every Size 10-week treatment group, we ask that individuals do not attend both groups simultaneously. Participants are advised to follow up with their family physicians for medical monitoring while attending the group.

Nutrition for Every Body is a 10-week online treatment group led by an Anti-Diet Registered Dietitian for those ready to work on nutrition basics for recovery. Understanding your nutritional needs and establishing eating goals can be overwhelming when working towards recovery from any kind of eating disorder. We invite individuals with different types of eating disorders to come together to learn the basics of structured eating for recovery from a non-diet lens. Over the course of 10 weeks, you will learn how to get started with structured eating, explore meal planning, navigate gastrointestinal issues, and challenge diet culture. Each week will begin with a brief check-in before we dive into nutrition educational content and set a small nutrition goal by the end of every session. This group may have triggering content for those sensitive to discussing food in detail, but is appropriate for anyone ready to talk about nutrition openly in a pro-recovery space. Please note this group is not a substitute for individual nutrition counselling or intensive eating disorder treatment, and it is strongly encouraged that participants keep in regular contact with their family doctor for medical monitoring while attending this group.
