Our services include virtual, self-guided resources such as a library of pre-recorded webinars, self-assessment tools, reflection exercises, and more. These services are offered through the Recovery Support Program, on the Careteam platform. We also offer virtual clinical support groups, led by experienced clinicians, that focus on education, insight development, motivation, and practical skill-building.
Currently, we are not able to provide individual services such as medical monitoring, mental health counselling or nutrition services.
Body Brave is not a crisis centre. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health crisis or emergency, call 911 or visit the nearest hospital immediately.
Body Brave offers services virtually to ensure accessibility across Canada.
All clinical support groups are offered virtually through Zoom Healthcare.
There is no wait time to access our self-guided support resources through the Recovery Support Program. These materials become available immediately after you create an account during registration.
Clinical Intakes Wait times for clinical intakes typically range from a few days to a month, depending on demand. Please note that we do not maintain a waitlist for clinical intakes. If no appointments are currently available, we recommend checking back regularly, as new slots are added regularly.
Closed Groups Our 10-week closed groups offer a waitlist option during the first three sessions of each cycle. After the third session, the waitlist closes to ensure that participants do not miss significant content and to preserve group connection. To join a waitlist, please email info@bodybrave.ca.
Please be aware that waitlists are reset with each new round of groups.
Drop-in Groups There are no waitlists for drop-in groups. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
At Body Brave, we follow a weight-neutral, non-diet approach to care. This means we do not focus on or promote weight loss as a goal. Our programs differ from those offered by bariatric or weight loss clinics, as our focus is on healing your relationship with food, body image, and challenging harmful stereotypes around body shape and size.
If you are specifically seeking support to achieve weight-loss goals, Body Brave may not be the right fit for your needs.
Individual therapy can be a great step in the journey to recovery. At this time, Body Brave does not offer one-on-one support.
For information about individual therapy and other resources/support across Canada, visit the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC).
At Body Brave, our dietitians do not provide individual nutrition services or standardized meal plans. Instead, we offer nutrition support groups led by a registered dietitian, where we take a collaborative approach to explore general meal planning principles, share practical tools, and help you build confidence around food—recognizing that every recovery journey is unique.
We understand that finding a provider with experience in eating disorders can be difficult. While we’re unable to offer direct referrals, we recommend exploring resources through the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC), which provides a directory of professionals across Canada.

NEDIC provides information, resources, referrals, and in-the-moment support to Canadians affected by eating disorders. If you’d like to talk through some of these care options, you can connect with a trained support worker through their helpline and instant chat service.

FAQ: Virtual Support Groups
If you decide to join a support group session, we hope that you’ll feel a sense of belonging, and develop a supportive community where each participant is respected and listened to equally. Our groups are lead by trained facilitators. Each session is guided with care, fostering a virtual community where respect and understanding are central to every conversation.
Learn more about what to expect in our groups here.
We encourage participants to keep their cameras on during group sessions to help foster a sense of connection and community. Having cameras on also supports confidentiality by allowing facilitators and fellow group members to see that no one else is present in your space.
That said, if you need to take a break during the session, you’re welcome to turn your camera off temporarily and rejoin when you’re ready.
We understand that seeing your own image on Zoom can sometimes be distracting. If this is the case, you may find the “Hide Self View” feature helpful. This allows you to see others while hiding your own video feed from view—others in the group will still be able to see you.
How to Hide Your Self-View in Zoom:
1. In your Zoom meeting window, go to the top right corner and click on "View."
2. Select "Hide Self View" from the dropdown menu to hide your video from your own screen.
To show your self-view again, simply go back to the "View" menu and uncheck "Hide Self View."
We understand that attending your first group can feel nerve-wracking. However, to protect the privacy and confidentiality of all participants, guests are not permitted. We kindly ask that you join the session from a quiet, private space where others cannot see or hear the group. If there’s a chance others might hear the audio, we recommend using headphones.
