Dr. Darcy Waisman (she/her), M.D., FRCPC
Medical Director
Dr. Waisman is a staff consulting psychiatrist, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, with a specialization in eating disorders. She has an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Alberta and holds a medical degree with honours from University College Dublin, Ireland, which she obtained, prior to completing her five-year psychiatry residency with The University of Toronto, later becoming a lecturer with this organization. 
 
Dr. Waisman has devoted her practice over the past decade to the care of individuals living with eating disorders, and is extremely passionate about her role in treatment, advocacy and the furthering of education and research in this important, under-serviced area of mental health. She has extensive experience in a wide range of eating disorder settings and is trained in various psychotherapeutic modalities including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), along with mindfulness, psychodynamic and various trauma-based therapies.
 
Dr. Waisman is honoured and delighted to be a part of Body Brave team, and to its continued efforts to not only provide, but transform accessible eating disorder care, through innovative servicing, advocacy and education, in the support of everybody.
