Amanda Hollahan, MSW Candidate

Amanda Hollahan has a Bachelor of Social Work and is currently a Master of Social Work candidate completing her studies in Fall 2021. Within her studies and research, she is particularly interested in examining the various intersections of fatness, as well as fat studies and pleasure activism; the impacts of familial and intimate-partner violence; and the ways in which dominant power structures such as Whiteness, sexism, and heteronormativity are enacted through institutional systems. Amanda also produced a bi-weekly podcast for Womenatthecentre, and is involved in research projects focused on weight-bias within medicalized spaces.
